‘Tis the Season for Fireflies and Glow Worms

Here’s a short, sweet story about a journalist’s quest to see the first fireflies of the season in an Australian park.

I have fireflies in my backyard now, but I didn’t where I grew up in North Dakota, and I remember my first time seeing them as a teenager. I was in a public park in Mexico with my mom and a high school friend. Bioluminescence is unforgettably beautiful.
